Delano Kitchen Remodel has a bold new look<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Wine gets better with age, but kitchens don\u2019t. Such was the case with this Delano residence and the retired homeowners who asked us to guide them through a fresh design and color scheme in their kitchen, dining, and living room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problem to solve? The dated look of honey oak and the early 2000s in general<\/li>\n\n\n\n
The solution to enjoy? Something clean, light, efficient, and elegant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Before<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n BEFORE: Kitchen area to be remodeled was filled with honey oak.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

All new appliances were specified to upgrade the look and efficiencies per the homeowner’s desires. The flooring was re-sanded and re-finished with a much lighter shade to lighten up the entire space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGrothouse\u00a0custom solid wood countertops were the first thing I thought of for sheer elegance,\u201d recalls Strandpark Properties. Design\/Build Consultant, Theresa Mann who led the project design phase. \u201cThe character of these surfaces is absolutely remarkable,\u201d added Mann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Grothouse was used for the rolling island, the pantry, the buffet and the living room built-ins, and even the fireplace mantel, while Cambria was selected as the perfect contrasting selection for the perimeter countertops.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAFTER: Kitchen area remodeled including buffet cabinetry with Grothouse solid walnut.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nAFTER: Collapsable mobile island with foldable Grothouse solid walnut counter top. To save time and money, the end newel posts were not removed but encased with a new flat post and balustrade.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\nAFTER: New built-in cabinets with Grothouse custom wood counter tops and fireplace mantel, new tile surround (Oldy Carbone 4×12 Mattee tile)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
