When the dishwasher rinse cycle turned into a river last winter, this Chanhassen couple turned to Strandpark Properties. to handle both the insurance aspect and the restoration efforts which developed into a much larger project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTheir first concern of course was restoring their kitchen and the damage to the lower level below, mostly carpet and ceilings,\u201d recalls Theresa Mann, the Strandpark Properties. design\/build lead assigned to the project. “That\u2019s where the project started, but not where it ended.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strandpark Properties. deals with a lot of interior projects that involve insurance claims when appliances fail and this was the perfect example of homeowners taking the opportunity to upgrade their space following a disastrous event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause of our 38 years of experience in the industry, we were able to work with their insurance company to get a realistic and adequate settlement, which laid the foundation for some significant improvements to their kitchen, living area, flooring throughout the main level and the entry area,\u201d explains Mann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Installed a custom railing system with (14 g. steel rails, 3\/8\u201d Tuffak\u2122 Polycarbonate glass)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Created a new entry closet with a custom rail door and frosted acrylic glass<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • New custom kitchen island with fluted legs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Cambria countertops (Brittanicca)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • New custom kitchen cabinets<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Updated the fireplace cabinetry with new doors to match the kitchen cabinets<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • All new appliances\u2014Theramador\u00ae cooktop; SAMSUNG\u00ae oven\/microwave unit, and new beverage center fridge<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Repainted all walls (Hirschfield\u2019s Dove\u2019s Wing 0537)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cBoth homeowners were great collaborators to work with,\u201d recalls Mann, who remembers their response to the question of a color pallet during the design phase. \u201cShe said she really liked black and white, so we went with a pre-finished ebony shade on the cabinets in the kitchen, and color matched to that on the fireplace shelves surround, the windows, and the new office door,\u201d explained Mann.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cI was a bit concerned about keeping the darker kitchen cabinets clean knowing this family likes to cook a lot and has three children under the age of six. But the eggshell finish we chose seems to have worked out quite well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
